Redirect chaturbate whitelabel naked domain to www and https (SSL)

The problem

So, you managed to set up your chaturbate whitelabel (WL) and activate SSL.
Now your WL is working with https://www.<domain.com> and http://<domain.com>

But what if someone types https://<domain.com> without the www? Try it, it will not work. Maybe you have lots of old links pointing to the <domain.com>

The solution below here will make all versions of the WL redirect to the https://www.<domain.com>

See for example the WL https://fuc.cam which works like it should. It is a chaturbate WL even if it does not look like one because the CSS is customized. They allowed it some time ago and that can make a WL look different from all the others. Maybe I should make another blog post about it sometimes?

What you will do is put the domain on Cloudflare. Dont't worry about the costs, it is totally free. And even it is adult content that is perfectly ok, in fact your whitelabel is already served by Cloudflare. You will just add the naked domain <domain.com> without the www.

Step 1

Sign up for a free Cloudflare account. Be sure to select the free plan, it is not pre-selected!

Follow the instructions to add your naked domain only. It will copy the DNS settings from your existing DNS provider (usually where you registered the domain, like Namecheap or Godaddy).

The DNS tab on Cloudflare should look something like this in the end.
After the DNS is verified you have to change the settings on your DNS provider, Cloudflare will show you how to do it.After the changes it might take some hours to propagate.

Step 2

Create SSL for the domain, go to the Crypto tab and choose Flexible on the right:

Further down on this page turn on the buttons for Always Use HTTPS and Automatic HTTPS Rewrites, make sure both buttons are green.

Note that it might take some time (up to 24 hours on the free plan) to activate SSL.

Step 3

That should really be enough. But to make sure all HTTP:// links will redirect correctly, you can add a page rule redirect, to correctly keeping the URL parameters in the old links:

Go to the tab named "Page rules" on Cloudflare and make one new rule

As always change fuc.cam to your own domain name.

That should be all.

You can check that it works with your own domain by trying all possible variants of www and http(s) like below here, using your own domain of course:

All of them should end up on the same page.
